A Guiding Principles of Self-Improvement

When you think of Self – Improvement, you think of ways on how to better yourself, But without having an aim to reach for, without putting action and giving it your all, if you don’t seek to improve yourself and make time for improvements, chances are you will be stuck with what you are right now, unable to move forward.  Once you are fixated with your thinking, you don’t give a chance to work on what you are lacking in your abilities. Stop being close-minded and start focusing on improving yourself, to grow and become the person you always wanted to become. Be open to all possibilities of growth and learn something new that you haven’t known before. You have the power to change and transform your life once you start evolving because once you are evolved, you feel a higher sense of purpose in your life, that you are being guided on the right path, and that there is always room for improvement as we never stop learning every day and thus, showing us the real meaning of life.

In fact, improving oneself doesn’t mean you are being too hard on your current self and you don’t love the way you are right now, It is when you’re always trying to improve yourself and have the “growth mindset” to do so that you develop a way of thinking that makes you believe that even your basic abilities can be improved which makes you become more knowledgeable of many things just because of your persistent to learn and grow as a person. You adapt the “I’m still learning” attitude that expands your knowledge, which allows you to move forward each day.

Once you establish a “growth mindset”, you’ll realize that there was nothing more meaningful than the development and betterment of yourself, because the more you grow, the more you realize that there is so much more to learn in life, that there is no end in the journey of self-improvement.

There are lots of practices that make you better every day and once you delve into it, you are allowing yourself to constantly expand your knowledge and expose yourself to things that bring you wisdom. Remember what they said, “The human potential is limitless, so it’s impossible to reach a point of no growth”.  After all, it is for your betterment, so start eliminating excuses that delay your progress towards improvement and start making adjustments that can help you to transform your life.

Here are 7 ways to do to improve yourself and develop a Growth Mindset

  1. Get out of your comfort zone and Stop fearing change – Change is inevitable, but you also need to want change in order for it to happen in your life. If you are afraid of the possibilities that change brings you then you are also afraid of stepping out of your comfort zone and do things that are unfamiliar to you but gives you the experiences you needed to learn in order to improve. If you are having a hard time stepping out of your comfort zone, you become stuck with the process and growth will not happen. Once you become comfortable with trying something new, you allow yourself to grow which gives you the direction to move forward.
  1. Change your fixed mindset – Whenever someone thinks highly of themselves, that they believe they possess enough intelligence that they refuse to improve, then they are basically showing a sign of having a fixed mindset trait. Perhaps they don’t see what is needed to improve in their life, perhaps they are not ready to put effort towards improvement or that they have gotten so used to their comfort zone, but whatever it is, they still possess the quality that they think everything is as perfect as it is and there is no room for improvement within themselves, So Instead of developing and bettering themselves they always want to appear as a ‘know it all’ and is not open to the idea of improving and change.

You won’t grow once you are stuck with that attitude, try to turn your mindset around and be open to learnings, because there is so much more to learn in life that you wanted to know for sure. Let yourself be open-minded to things that can make you grow and value the idea of learning.
  1. Stop Procrastinating and work towards things that can help you improve – eliminate all excuses for actually improving and stop delaying your progress. You need to do it now because sometimes, later becomes never and you ended up not improving at all.
  1. Level up your skills – Improving your skills won’t occur without working on it. Not only did your skills level up and improves, but it also helps to level up your wisdom and knowledge to a certain thing once you’re in the process. It helps you to aim for achieving success and gain experience in your abilities.
  1. Do not be afraid to fail and use it as a learning experience to never make the same mistakes again – Your obstacles and challenges are what makes you become a better person than you were yesterday. The more hardships you faced the more you become used to it and grow through it because of your experience. If you fail once, get up the second time around and use it as a learning experience for you to never fail again the next time you try.
  1. Trust the process – trust that everything takes time to grow. It is not an overnight process that makes you grow much the next day. It needs time to become the better you and needs to overcome a lot of challenges before you can grow and evolve as the person you dreamed of.
  1.   Acknowledge your imperfections – When you are constantly improving yourself because you acknowledge your imperfections, you are giving yourself reasons to better yourself and make your imperfections, perfect.
